Each year, children are impacted by many issues affecting mental health such as bullying, reliance on screen devices and mental disorders. The statistics of these issues continue to significantly increase among children all over the world.
These topics are generally not taught in mainstream education curriculum in primary or pre-schools. Some of the relevant topics include:
- Emotional intelligence
The skills desired in the world today emphasise the ability to be leaders of themselves and others, the ability to be emotionally intelligent, confident and resilient. In order to adapt to a fast changing world, this skills will become even more meaningful and desired in the future.
There is an immediate opportunity to enhance these skills and help the current and next generation achieve more and succeed in life.
Neuroscience has evolved more in the last 5 years than in the last 50 years. All the knowledge from scientific research, medical data and brain mapping plus recent discoveries make it possible to understand better the early years and act at the right time frame according to the window of opportunity of each childhood stage.
Empowermind was created to help families achieve a more successful journey in a changing world where new skills are required to adapt and succeed in an uncertain future. By tackling specific issues and providing specialised activities to develop emotional intelligence and other meaningful skills to deal with life challenges, Empowermind will support children, parents and families in their journey.
